Nestled at the base of Mount Cardigan and surrounded by 6,000 acres of forest, Cardigan is a year-round retreat for outdoor enthusiasts. Here, you can step out onto 50 miles of hiking and skiing trails, enjoy the backcountry experience without the long hike, or bring a group to stay at our group campsite, just a 10 minute walk from the lodge. Later, spend the evening relaxing by the campfire with your friends and family.

Cardigan Campsites

Season Dates:

Open year-round.

At our Cardigan campsites you will have access to 20 primitive campsites, each with space for two tents, a fire ring with grill, and a picnic table. One group campsite accommodates larger groups up to 36 people. One small group site is ideal for groups up to 12 people. Clark Brook Campsite is a backcountry group site 1.1 miles from Cardigan Lodge that can accommodate 14 people. The campsites are Walk-in access only with wheelbarrows available to shuttle gear. Carry in/carry out. Camp stoves are recommended for cooking. Meals are also available at the lodge during full-service season at the posted rates, with advance reservations. New outhouses are within walking distance of campsites. However, showers are not available. A potable water source is available within 100 feet of the campsite and just outside of of the lodge. The retail store within the lodge stocks the basic necessities, including books and maps.
